JLT Lake D community updates

DMCC and Sweid & Sweid are proud to introduce BAY360, a new lifestyle destination and community hub at JLT’s Lake D, sensitively developed on a small portion of the existing lake, while retaining the majority of Lake D as a defining feature of the community.

Conceived as a neighbourhood and community hub, BAY360 will offer a carefully curated mix of essential retail, dining, wellness, and recreational amenities. This development forms part of DMCC’s wider upgrade of shared spaces across JLT, further elevating the quality, accessibility, and liveability of one of Dubai’s most established residential districts.

  • The enhancement works aim to maintain Lake D’s environmental quality, improve community connectivity, and activate the public realm. Key objectives include:

    • Redevelopment of a small portion of Lake D to host BAY360, offering retail, dining, wellness, and family-oriented amenities.
    • Preserving the majority of the lake as a central feature of the community.
    • Enhancing pedestrian movement with direct, legible routes from the metro station to surrounding clusters and JLT Park.
    • An architectural approach that prioritises harmony with the surrounding waterfront.

Enhancement works

Drainage progress

Controlled drainage is ongoing, with water levels lowered in phases under strict health, safety, and environmental protocols.

Community measures

Temporary wayfinding and safety signage are installed. Pedestrian access is maintained via marked diversions. Odour-neutralising treatments and pest-control measures follow Dubai Municipality guidance.

Maintenance activity

The lakebed is being deep cleaned to improve water quality and strengthen infrastructure. Dust and noise are actively managed during daytime working hours.

What’s next

Lake D will continue to be drained in phases, followed by a full lakebed clean and essential maintenance. Regular updates will be shared through official DMCC and JLT channels and community notice boards.

Future development plans

Lake D will remain a central feature of JLT, with enhancements improving environmental quality, accessibility, and public engagement. BAY360 will bring a carefully curated mix of lifestyle, retail, wellness, and family-oriented amenities, thoughtfully integrated with the lakefront environment.
